More than a year after her Arctic residency in spring 2025, Xiaocong presents works and writings made through a year-long process of unpacking the experience. The exhibition considers how the residency continues to unfold beyond its physical duration. For her, the Arctic is not a self-contained experience, and its meaning emerges retrospectively through distance.
The question of ‘What does it mean to be in the Arctic?’ thus provides an entry point to a renewed understanding of where we are, before and after.
//About the artist
@xiaocong.ge works across ink, photography, and installation, exploring human presence within shifting landscapes and material frameworks.
